Have you ever really wondered?
Have you every really wondered if your donations of school
supplies, medicines, books, shoes and used sports
equipment really mattered? Really made a difference?
Packing that extra bag of supplies to bring with you when
you come to Puerto Plata makes a big difference. On
behalf of the recipients of your supplies….thank you!
The name of this school is Mano a Mano (which means
Hand by Hand in English) and is located in Montellano, a
very needy neighborhood in Puerto Plata, Dominican
Republic.
The school is very small, the roof leaks; but it is open to all children. The purpose of this school is to
keep these children off the streets today and to give them a chance for tomorrow.
Father Dumy Joly pays for the cost of the teacher, the milk provided to the students, and also the school
supplies. We have been asked to help. And we will.
The Elliott Foundation believes that if we reach out and support a child with the tools to move forward
albeit, health care and medicines, books to read, an opportunity to attend school, or assist with a safe
and caring environment, we give children a chance for change and to become the best they can.
