The Elliott Foundation delivered second payment for Children's wing
The
Elliott Foundation wishes to share with the people of Puerto Plata some
great news, marking the official launch of our campaign
contributing to the good health of children in our city and province.
On
Friday, April 18th, the Foundation delivered the Second payment in
support of the re-construction of the children’s wing at the Dr.
Limardo
Hospital in Puerto Plata. The Elliott Foundation
has partnered with local volunteer organization “Voluntariado Jesús con
los Niños”, who
created this project and is in charge of the construction.
Elliott
Foundation Executive Director Tonia Caiat presents a cheque for U$S
14,000 to Mrs. Ana María Brugal, President of “Voluntariado”. The
ceremony
was also attended by Mr Joaquin Duenas, Director of Sales and Marketing
SV as well as Mrs. Patricia Jiménez and Celinés Imbert,
Vice President and Treasurer of “Voluntariado” and Mr. Miguel Coder, Vice President of Sun Village Resorts & Spa.
The
Foundation’s long term commitment with this project includes
contributing to its operating budget and the establishment of
professional
links with children hospitals in North
America. The stated objective is to have in Puerto Plata a model
pediatric unit to assist children, the
newborn and their mothers without regards to the parent’s ability to pay.
The
Elliott Foundation raises funds internationally as well as locally for
this project and wish to thank the generosity of our donors and
benefactors
for their support, goodwill and love for the needy in Dominican
Republic. We also extend our appreciation to our Partners
Voluntariado whose commitment to the project is commendable.
