Reconstruction of Pediatric Ward, Puerto Plata Hospital.
June 2008. Donations continue for the reconstruction of the pediatric ward.
Current work is being completed with respect to the installation of the water tank and water mains.
Focus will now be directed to the washroom and showers.
New toilets, sinks, showers, doors, fixtures, lighting, tiling and upgraded drainage will be installed.
These upgrades will providing easier and safer access for the children and the

Construction for this section is expected to begin late June 2008 and will include rewiring for advanced
acclimatization, lighting and medical gas system. An existing large window will be sealed and repairs
made to the walls and floors to increase and secure this unit. This phase is expected to incorporate
these improved standards to allow for new advances to neo natal equipment and services as well as
greatly enhance the quality of care provided for the babies.
The Elliott Foundation will meet with their partners Voluntariado Jesus Con Los Ninos late June to
provide initial funding for this phase. With your help, we continue to make a difference
